Ancho Reyes Verde
|ABV||Country of origin|
Ancho Reyes is a liqueur made from the extraordinary Chile Ancho inspired by a recipe from the 1920s, originally from the city of Puebla de Zaragoza. Influenced by spirits from the old world, Ancho Reyes evokes a sense of timelessness eliciting a feeling of nostalgia.
The poblano chilis, used in the production of this liqueur, are cultivated in the volcano-enriched soils of Puebla. After harvest, the soil is rested for three years before it again grows chilis. The Verde uses fire roasted green Poblano chiles macerated in cane spirit for six months and blended to produce a fiery flavoursome liqueur.
On the nose it has notes of tropical fruit and roasted chilies, and on the palate freshly cut green chili is perceived with a bittersweet start and a herbaceous and roasted pineapple finish.
